Kathryn Ruth McGinnis Fortney, 73, of Woodland Terrace, Morgantown, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Monongalia General Hospital.She was born in National, WV on April 25, 1937, a daughter of the late Clarence McGinnis and the late Nina (Rowe) McGinnis. Survivors include her husband, James Albert Fortney, Jr. five children, Debbie Brown and husband Michael of Soddy Daisy, TN, Diane Breeding and husband Elsea âJuniorâ of Sale Creek, TN, Robert Fortney, Daniel Lynn Fortney and wife Jennifer and David Fortney all of Morgantown six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren one sister, Betty Bishoff and one niece, Janet Forbes, both of Hildebrand, WV.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister.Mrs. Fortney was a homemaker who enjoyed working with her hands â" particularly crafting and sewing.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Wednesday, December 22 from 5-8 PM and again on Thursday, December 23 from 9 AM until the time of the funeral service 10 AM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
