Helen Mullen DeWitt, 96, of Morgantown, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2010, at Pierpont Center in Fairmont. She was born May 1, 1914, in Rowlesburg, WV a daughter of the late Clarence and Hazel Elaine Heath Kalbaugh. She was a member of the Spruce Street United Methodist Church since 1941 and she belonged to the Wayside Helpers Sunday School Class. She was a former employee of Morgan Shirt Factory and a salesperson for the Dodge Jewelry Company, she also worked for the Jewel Tea Company for seven years. She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Wimer of Jackson, OH and Patricia Speelman and spouse, Ronald of Fairmont, two sisters, Betty Bonnett of FL and Mary Ellen Allison of Pittsburgh, PA, a brother, Robert Kalbaugh and spouse Janet of Wintersville, OH 6 grandchildren Helen Jo Smith and Mike, Lavon Miller and Pat, Brenda Smith and Albert, Terri Tackett and Steve, Gary McQuown, Tami McQuown, and a step-grandson, David Mullen, 7 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis Metheny, her second husband, Lawrence Mullen and her third husband, Erville DeWitt, four brothers, 2 infant grandsons, a step-granddaughter, JudyMullen Naugle, son-in-laws Roscoe Wimer, Jr. and Ronald McQuown. Family and friends were received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 12 (Noon) to 5p.m on Sunday, Sept. 12. Visitation continued on Monday, Sept. 13 from 9-10a.m. at the Spruce Street United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Monday in the church at 10:00a.m. with Rev. Dr. John E. Allen officiating. Burial followed at Lawnwood Cemetery.
