Obituary of Georgianna May Hess

Georgianna "Jan" May Hess, 81, of Arch Street, Morgantown, passed away early Friday morning, March 29, 2013 at her residence. She was born May 6, 1931 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Clifton Hess, and the late Georgia Sylvia Wilson Hess. Survivors include one sister, Bettie June Smith of Brownsboro, AL, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard H., Melvin Walter, Virgil Wilson and Joseph Ernest Hess; and three sisters, Edna V. Hess, Laura Julia Hess, and Henrietta Hess Fortney. She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1949 and worked for Roger's Jewelry Store and Gregg Adams Photography. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Monday, April 1 from 11AM until the time of the service at 1 PM with Chaplain Craig Falkenstine officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover. At the request of family, the casket will remain closed during visitation.
