Obituary of Anna Kohler

Anna Kohler, 97, of Morgantown, and formerly of Auburn, NY, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her residence.
She was born in Olaphant, PA on April 29, 1916, a daughter of the late Stephan Pinchak and the late Euphemia Soloman Pinchak.
Survivors include one daughter, Maryanna Brookman and her husband David with whom she made her home; two granddaughters, Sadie Brookman of Port St. Lucie, FL and Tessa Brookman of Ellensburg, WA; and her favorite standard poodle, Beckham, fondly known to Anna as"Whitey".
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Kohler, and seven siblings.
Anna was a deeply religious woman who was full of life and energy. She attended St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Sabraton, and also was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Auburn, NY where she was on several committees and always enjoyed baking bread for the church's activities. She also enjoyed working in her garden, mowing grass and working with her flowers. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and granddaughters.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Friday, July 5th from 5-7 PM. On Saturday, July 6th, Mrs. Kohler will be moved to St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Sabraton, where visitation will continue from 10 AM until the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at 11 AM with Father Michael Hustzi as celebrant. Mrs. Kohler will then be taken to Auburn, NY next week, where an additional Divine Liturgy will be offered at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Mapleshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Morgantown Hospice for all of their care and concern during Anna's illness.
