Obituary of Janet Ruth Evans

Janet Evans, 84, of Morgantown passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019, at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born on October 9, 1935, in Morgantown, WV, the daughter of the late Herman and Ruth Johnson.

 

Janet was an avid Mountaineer sports fan and animal lover.

 

Janet is survived by a son, Mark Evans of Morgantown; a daughter, Julie Evanto and spouse, Chris, of Morgantown; five grandchildren:  Jennifer Evans and spouse, Justin, Samantha Evans, Nick Pettit, Jesse Evanto and Lexy Evanto along with three great-grandchildren: Dani, Mikey, and Ali; and sister-in-law, Linda Johnson.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Evans and brother, Jim Johnson and cousin, Norma-Jean Taylor.

 

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home on Saturday, October 26th from 4-7 p.m., with Dr. Rev. Randall Flanagan.  In accordance with her wishes, cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home, Omega Crematory.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia, P O Box 1090, Dellslow, WV  26531.
