Henry was such a wonderful, kind colleague. His smile and humor were contagious and such a joy.. I was always so happy to see and talk with Henry.
Henry and I had something devastating in common. When Henry found out about my loss, he came to my office, told me of his similar loss, shared his words of wisdom, listened to me, hugged me while I cried, and was incredibly caring. I'll always remember Henry's ongoing caring and kindness.
My heart goes out to Henry's family and other loved ones. You and Henry are in my thoughts. May his memory be a blessing..
With Sympathy,
Jodi Goodman

Henry was a boss, a friend, and a (unconventional) role model from my years at B&E to today. We talked for hours - server provisioning, plant watering, parenting, religion, politics...nothing was off limits and the more taboo, the better. In our most recent correspondence, he shared that 'In life, we meet many people, connect with some, but make friends with precious few. We all need to keep in contact with our friends, new or old. They always seem to bring us to a better place in our life." Henry's vulnerability, honesty and kind soul made me a better person. His coffee was horrible but his spirit was second to none. I will miss you, Henry. All my love to your family. Chad Leonard

What a beautiful soul. Henry was a good friend, an engaged coworker, a loving husband and a dedicated father with the most welcoming smile and a laugh that made it impossible not to laugh with him. He was often the first person I would see in the morning at the College of Business and that 2 minutes would set the tone for my day. He leaves behind a beautiful family and will not be forgotten. Henry-you MADE a difference. Thank you.

Marge, Sam & Ben - I met Henry in 1982 at Giant Eagle. We both started off as baggers, and we had an instant rapport. I so enjoyed having some lively conversations with Henry over the years, and will really miss those in addition to his kindness always towards me. I remember how happy Henry was after meeting Marge, and was so lucky to attend their wedding & celebrate their love for each other. Henry was a great guy, and he will be missed by many.

So sad to learn of Henry’s passing and the loss experienced by his family. Henry and I were friends for years. We fished and hunted together with our father’s who were life long friends. They met as a result of my mom and Harold growing up at Spruce Street Methodist as their parents were also good friends.

Henry was a wonderful person and a blessing to have as a colleague. He could brighten anyone's day with his quick wit. He was so encouraging and invested in the success of both the students and young professionals at B&E. Not only could he fix any IT issue that came your way, but he also took time to really get to know people - and because of that, he helped others with way more than just their computers. He gave great advice, was an excellent listener, and his empathy and kindness were unmatched. I am so grateful to have had his positive presence in my life and to call him a friend. He will be so missed.

I worked with Henry at the business school. He was always one of my favorite people. Not only could I count on him to fix a technical problem, he had a great sense of humor so I always enjoyed just talking with him. One of our last conversations a couple of years ago was how proud he was that Ben had graduated and was doing well. I'll remember him as full of life, a devoted family man and someone who made me smile every time I saw him on campus. My deepest sympathies to Marge, Sam and Ben. Grief is the price we pay for love.

Henry would show up at my office door at 6 in the morning with a joke, a choice morsel of gossip, or some wry observation, and always that smile. I have so much respect and admiration for the way he handled the challenges he faced in life, the way he handled his responsibilities at work, and the way he always put Marge and Sam and Ben first. He was always kind, a good friend, and I miss him.
