Patricia B. Lewis, age 80, of Morgantown WV passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, at The Harbor Assisted Living facility in Pearland TX. Born on October 1, 1944, in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Malvin Dewight Brown and Sylvia Jones Brown. A beloved daughter, sister, mother and friend, Pat's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, her unabashed willingness to speak truth to power, and her spiritual upbringing. Patricia was one of eight children who maintained a close-knit family bond despite being separated from her siblings as a child after the unexpected death of her mother. She persevered and graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School on June 8, 1962. She was married to Albert R. Lewis Jr (deceased) on May 30, 1964, in Morgantown WV where she shared a rich, fulfilling life with him. Over the years, Pat held a number of positions, including working as a switchboard operator, and a painting finisher at Davis and Lynch Glass Factory. She obtained her accounting certificate from West Virginia Junior College before spending over 30 years at Mon General Hospital in the accounts payable department where she truly made her mark, leaving behind lasting relationships with her colleagues. A devoted member of St. Paul AME Church in Morgantown where she was a Stewart, and usher, Pat was known for her warm, giving spirt and her love for spending time with those closest to her. She was an avid sports fan and found joy in bowling, watching her Mountaineers, playing cards and the occasional trip to the casino. Her family and friends will always remember Pat for her big smile, infectious laugh and the joy she brought playfully teasing anyone in reach. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband, her siblings Linda K. Ballard, Anita L. Brown, Merle O. Brown, and Michael Q. Brown Sr, as well as her beloved son Lamar D. Lewis. She is survived by her sisters Anne K. Myers of Charlotte NC, and Debra L. Thompson of Upper Marlboro MD, brother Gerald A. (Beverly) Brown of Inglewood CA, her sons Aaron J. Lewis of Morgantown WV, and Albert Ron (Altonet) Lewis III of Manvel TX, her stepdaughter Rochelle (Clark) Brown of Hagerstown MD, and bonus son Trey'Shawn Lewis of Morgantown. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Nia Brown, Quinton Lewis, Troy Lewis, Kamron Lewis and Jarred Lewis as well as a host of nieces and nephews which she loved dearly. Patricia's life touched so many, and her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV, on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Friday, January 31st from 10:00 AM until the time of the Going Home Service at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating.
